OPTICAL TEXTURES was inspired by the works of several painters beginning with Victor Vasarely in the 1930’s to many artists who worked in this style in the 1960’s when OP Art became more widely recognized and gained its height of popularity.
Most of these paintings were based on tricks of visual perception using rules of perspective to give the illusion of 3-dimensional space, mixing colors to give the impression of light and shadow. The pieces in this collection are black & white abstracts as that was how the majority of designs of the OP Art period were done.
The designs give the illusion of movement, flashing and vibration, or alternately of swelling or warping which have a particularly modern appeal for current designers of all disciplines. The CD included is in Vector files useable for both PC and MAC. In addition, the black & white files are in 4 Color Process Printing or CMYK which can be used to create fabulous psychedelic effects all copyright free.
